Chris Kelly

Member of Parliament for Dudley South

Sarah-Jane has been a highly active and diligent member of the Conservative Future national executive over the last year. She has been proactive in contacting MPs to explain what CF is doing in her area of responsibility. She is exactly the kind of person the party needs representing Conservative Future in what will be a vital period running up to the General Election and I hope to see her re-elected in order to continue her excellent work to date.

Sarah-Jane has been a fantastic National Deputy Chairman Membership and I am proud to endorse her candidacy. Her work ethic, enthusiasm and dedication to the role is only outshone by her stellar dedication to the Conservative movement. Her ability to engage with membership in all regions and nations of our country has been remarkable, and the importance she has placed on membership feedback is a welcome development. Hardly a day goes by when she isn’t involved in putting on an event or seeking to engage our members further, and her willingness to invoke current CF members’ views in the day-to-day running of the organisation, coupled with her passion to recruit new members is refreshing and just what CF needs more of! I wish her all the very best and look forward to her involvement with CF for many years to come!

Conal O'Hare

Northern Ireland Regional Deputy Chairman (Conservative Future)

Mahyar Tousi

Former Greater Manchester Deputy Area Chairman (Conservative Future)

It is with absolute pleasure to officially endorse Sarah-Jane Sewell for the position of National Deputy Chairman (membership). Since she got elected last year, Sarah-Jane has transformed the relationship between regular members and the national executive.
Her passion and enthusiasm for CF and politics has proven that she is always focused and determined when doing her job, even when facing different challenges. So far she has done a brilliant job as deputy membership, but I believe there is still more to come, therefore I am voting for her in the CF national elections, and I urge all members to do the same.

Alexander Clarke
Surrey Area Campaign Manager (Conservative Future)

I don’t usually write endorsements, in fact as a rule when asked about them I just say no… because a campaign manager has to work with everyone and by endorsing someone you run the risk of making other work relationships difficult. Also for those who know me, they will know that I do not compliment lightly – another reason not to say anything. However, there is an exception to every rule, and Sarah-Jane is for me that exception.
I didn’t expect much, if anything from Royal Holloway University CF when the election started – they were a brand new branch, mostly fresher’s and their Chairman; well as far as I could see she frankly had enough on her plate without coming out campaigning for Julie Iles in the Surrey Police & Crime Commissioner election.
I was (very happily so) proved completely and utterly wrong in my expectation.
Sarah-Jane is one of those rare souls, of which I’m also a fortunate member, who doesn’t seem to need to sleep – is self-motivated and organised enough to balance her work in a way which allows her to do things which are important to her… like leading from the front and taking an active part in her party’s endeavours. She quickly became one of the most reliable stalwarts of the campaign, and her CF provided many of its budding stars; who I’m sure under her guidance will become prominent in the future. She was excellent - or to put it in the words of a young lady from another branch after delivering alongside her for the day; “she’s inspirational”.
I will finish by saying that I have not met the other candidates for Deputy Chair Membership, so I cannot really compare them to Sarah-Jane…and frankly wouldn’t see the purpose in it if I could. However, I can say without hesitation that it is a hard role, requiring everything its tenant can give it – tenacity is not a virtue but a necessity, a can-do spirit is not a bonus but an essential, and a willingness to put the needs of the party above your own an absolute must… And I can say without a shadow of a doubt, that Sarah-Jane is such a person to do that.

Calum Heaton-Gent
Vice President Conservative Friends of Central Asia

Yorkshire Deputy Chairman (Conservative Future)

I have always admired Sarah-Jane's youthful energy and enthusiasm in regards to CF. The very fact that someone in full time university education is still able to commit themselves to work which requires high levels of commitment and skill really tells us that Sarah-Jane is suitable for such a high level role.

I have been impressed by Sarah-Jane ever since I met her earlier this year working on a upcoming CF social action project. Her enthusiasm, commitment and dedication make her a key asset to CF and all other Conservative groups she is involved in. Also to further this Sarah-Jane's commitment to campaign work and social action makes her easily a huge asset as she is a dedicated hard worker and I believe Sarah-Jane would make an excellent Deputy Chairman.

Bristol and Gloucestershire Area Chairman (Conservative Future)

North West Region Treasurer (Conservative Future)

While Sarah-Jane has been Deputy Chairman (Membership), CF has gained many more members and been a stronger campaigning force as a result. It's a case of putting 2 + 2 together for me

Sarah-Jane has been an excellent DCM this year. Her motivation for the job and hosting a wide range of events across the country, in particular her crucial work in social action which I know has inspired branches across the country, have helped show that Conservative Future is not just based in London, but is a truly national organisation. Sarah-Jane is definitely getting my vote in the election!

Jamie Williams
Greater Manchester Area Chairman (Conservative Future)

Having worked closely with Sarah-Jane during my time as a member of the CF National Strategy Board, I have consistently been impressed by the manner in which she has performed the role of National Deputy-Chairman Membership. Her consistent competence, enthusiasm and dedication make a great asset to the Party and she has undeniably earned the opportunity to continue serving CF in her current position, especially having already gained over a year's worth of experience on the national executive

"RE ELECT THIS MAGNIFICENT WOMAN"

When Sarah-Jane Sewell announced her candidacy for the National Deputy Chairmanship of Conservative Future in 2011, I was amongst many people who doubted whether a person who was still at school, and had joined the party only in the same year could effectively serve in this role. Sarah-Jane has answered these doubters and critics decisively. That is why I urge CF members to support Sarah-Jane Sewell with enthusiasm in the forthcoming CF National Elections.

After Sarah-Jane declared her candidacy , I decided to watch her campaign. This was one of the best political campaigns I have seen in my life. She used every CF related facebook group she could find to hammer home a positive message relentlessly. Sarah-Jane was an outspoken critic of the anonymous blog comments which are one of the few things which blight Conservative Future. She also restrained her supporters from attacks on her opponent. Having seen her very impressive campaign, my view of her changed from doubting whether she could fulfill the role to which she was seeking election, to wanting to see her elected.

Running a campaign is one thing, serving in the position is another. Sarah-Jane continued to impress. She has shown herself to be a confident, lively and mature young woman who deals with senior members of the Party confidently. She has also organised a number of successful events which have been enjoyed by all who attended them . She is a strong advocate of social action, not only as an end in itself, but also as a means of changing the image of the Conservative Party for the better, particularly amongst younger people. She has written the best case I have ever seen for Conservative Party members becoming involved in social action projects.

Despite being a formidably talented woman, Sarah-Jane is also highly personable. She is a great asset to Conservative Future and the Conservative Party. I hope that CF members re elect her in March.

Sarah-Jane has been industrious and committed in her role during her first term, with part of that success undoubtedly being her delivery of a number of successful events across the country. Supporting her re-election is a no-brainer

University of Westminster Secretary (Conservative Future), West Midlands Conservative Future activist

Sarah-Jane has done a fantastic job on the National Executive over the past year, and has continued to speak out for all factions and Regions of CF. Her continued championing of Social Action in CF is allowing us within the party to give something back to the local communities.

She is a hard working individual that will always turn up to as many events as possible, and assist with them as much as possible. Her hard work and dedication to the Party and CF makes her the right individual to be re-elected to the National Deputy Chairman Membership role in CF.

If you want something done, give it to someone who’s already busy. This is especially true of Sarah-jane, who has in her short time in CF has achieved far more than most do in many years. As Deputy Chairman Membership, Sarah-jane has got stuck into the unsexy, but vital work connecting people, keeping information up to date and creating opportunities for young members to get involved.

This alone would be enough to make give her my endorsement to continue the good work she has already achieved as Deputy Chairman Membership. However, along with this role she has re-energised social action within CF at a national level, re-launched CF at Royal Holloway and is visible and active across Conservative Future nationally. Re-elect Sarah-jane Sewell, she is a great CF member and her guts, determination and infectious enthusiasm will take her very far.

Richard Holloway
Cities of London and Westminster Chairman (Conservative Future)

Sarah-Jane clearly has the skills, enthusiasm and experience, to lead Conservative Future's membership efforts at this important time for our party - demonstrated by her already impressive track-record.  As we move closer to the General Election, this work is going to become ever more important, as we seek to build upon our already effective campaigning infrastructure, to help us win a much-needed outright majority in 2015.

Thomas Pursglove
Wellingborough Chairman (Conservative Future)

I have worked with Sarah Jane over the last year in a variety of roles she has held both as National Deputy Chairman and Chairman of Royal Holloway CF.
Everyone who looks at CF with their eyes open will have seen and noted the fantastic job Sarah Jane has done, in the face of some hard challenges, as National Deputy Chairman. However it is her work with Royal Holloway CF that I would like to focus on as I have been in a closer proximity to what has been achieved and why.
If I cast my mind back to the middle of 2012, Royal Holloway CF was a branch that we had identified as needing to ‘get off the ground’ but we were yet to achieve any credible success. Sarah Jane joined Royal Holloway in September of 2012 and took on the challenge of making CF in Royal Holloway a success.
We now move into 2013 with an engaged membership at the university, a presence on campus and, most importantly, one of the most dedicated campaign teams in the whole of Surrey let alone the South East. Sarah Jane has worked tirelessly building strong links with the Association and the University simultaneously. She has engaged members who were previously disinterested in CF. Sarah Jane has built a fantastic branch which will go on for many years.
I inferred that I want to address why Sarah Jane has made this a success. It is very simple, Sarah Jane is hard working, has her figure on the pulse as to what CF aged individuals want, realises the importance of campaigning but equally wants to reward that with some great events. This is, in my view, the ethos by which Sarah Jane engages with CF whether it be in the capacity of Branch Chairman or National Deputy Chairman; that is a unique ability. I have no doubt that CF would be worse off without Sarah Jane as its National Deputy Chairman for 2013/14 and I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to vote for her.

James Morton
South East Region Chairman, Surrey Area Chairman (Conservative Future)

I’ve known Sarah-Jane since secondary school and from this point she has shown determination to advance CF.She has always been extremely active helping to set up two Conservative Future branches and, in her role on the national executive, put a great emphasis on community and charitable work. For this Sarah-Jane has led from the front always aiding charities and encouraging all members to join her. Sarah Jane is liked by all for being a kind and genuinely caring person. Furthermore, Sarah-Jane is someone who understands how centralised the organisation and events are in CF. She, like me, come from CF branches that no one pays very much attention to. Sarah-Jane has gone someway to making sure that all Conservative Future is less London-centric by pushing events across the country.Sarah-Jane needs another year; make sure she gets your vote.
